Brandie Cormier, M.A., A.T.R., C.C.C. – Associate

I grew up in Medicine Hat and Calgary, Alberta. I always dreamed of being an artist and a healer of some sort as a way to bring together my two greatest loves: creativity and people. In university, I pursued studies in art, psychology and completed graduate studies in creative art therapies. After I finished my master's degree, I worked as a counselor and art therapist with children, teens and families in crisis in organizations and in private practice.

Ten years, a marriage, and two children later, I was at the top of my game, but I wanted something new. What was missing? I was working with people, I was getting to use my creativity… but indeed I wanted something more or different. After some soul searching, I realized I wanted to work with people who wanted to thrive, not just survive!

I am extremely blessed that I knew where to go for advice; I have a mother, Donalda, who is an amazing teacher, coach, and facilitator. I joined Cormier Consulting Group full time in 2009 and since then I have been learning, facilitating, writing, inventing, coaching, co-designing training events and mostly having fun. When I am not at work, I am busy with my family, learning about conscious parenting, Waldorf education, making art, and crafting. I always look for places to apply my work to my life and my life to my work.

In my work, I am committed to helping people develop their ability to listen to their inner wisdom in order to bring direction and vision to their work and personal lives. I believe that all people are inherently creative and can use that creativity to thrive. I also know that bad things happen in life; I am trained in trauma therapy and EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and I am able to work with you when you need this. I draw on my 10 years of counseling experience when I meet with you for individual coaching.
